Frustration

So . . . I have something to admit.  I don't do well with failure.  I tend to beat myself up over it and get pretty frustrated.  After not passing the first three sections of the four-part CPA exam (over two years ago), I haven't even attempted the last, or to retake the first three.  When I finish a difficult photography session where the lighting just was awful and I know I have a  bunch of fuzzy images to delete, I feel a bit like a deflated balloon.

It has been almost six months since I opened my Etsy shop, showcasing some of my photography.  I have added a few images and changed some out since then in hopes of increasing business, but I have yet to sell a single print.  There have been several "favorites" and some of the images have made it to peoples' "treasuries", but the fact that I haven't made a single sale is pretty depressing.

At this point, I am trying to decide which direction to take.  Should I try adding some more variety in the prints available and push my marketing more, or should I close up shop for now and save myself the heartache?  Not that an Etsy shop is real expensive to keep open (their fees are really reasonable), but maybe I should use those funds elsewhere - like towards saving for a new camera.

Here are a few of the photos that are available for sale, as well as the link to my store.  If anyone has any suggestions or recommendations, any advice at all as far as which direction I should go, I would really appreciate it.

Shopping on Etsy

I haven't shopped on Etsy in quite awhile . . . until this week.  I've made a couple of photography prop purchases in the last few days from various Etsy stores . . . as well as a couple others from other websites.  I will try to share those once I get everything in the mail.

But while I was on Etsy, I decided to update my own shop a little with some more recent photos.  So if you go visit Seashore Photography right now, you can see some of my newest offerings.  Here is a sample of one of the new prints that are available for purchase:

Another Milestone

I have to give a quick little shout-out to my friend Julie over at A Beautiful Day.  She is officially my first customer over at Seashore Photography!  I found her blog nearly a year ago and she has been the most amazing cheerleader ever since.  I can't begin to show how grateful I am for her.  She has encouraged me and provided me with an opportunity to write a monthly guest post at A Beautiful Day.  She is just really wonderful.

So - if you get a chance, go stop by and show her some love in return for me!
