A Chilly Day at the Beach

As I mentioned in last week's Friday Photo Journal, Tristan and I ventured out to a little beach that is off the highway near our house the weekend before New Year's.  Now, we live in Oregon.  A December Sunday in Oregon is not really ideal beach weather - it is cold!  But it was a nice clear afternoon at least so we bundled up and went out anyway.

There is something so peaceful about the water.  I would love to do a series of different waterways of the northwest.  The ocean is by far my favorite.  But all of these places definitely get me in the mood for my "word of the year" - INSPIRE! 

Sadly, this was a few days before my new toy came.  Those pictures are on their way, though, I promise!  I did have a polarizing filter on - which resulted in some pretty cool shots.

...and those are my cold beach trip pictures!  By the time we left, it was getting frosty and we could see our breath!
